The Mets got going in the first inning with an RBI DB to make the score 1-0 Mets. Grady Sizemore tied things in the 6th with a solo shot. Chipper Jones gave the Redsox the lead in the same inning with an RBI single making the score 2-1. In the 7th Placido Polanco hit an RBI single and David Ortiz hit a 2 RBI triple. Ortiz would eventually score himself on a throwing error by Brian McCann to make the score 6-1. In the 8th the Redsox would make the score 7-1 when Troy Tulowitzki hit an RBI DB. The Mets would add a run in the 9th off of a solo shot by David Wright but it wouldn't be enough as the Redsox take this one 7-2.

The Mets got out to early lead as they did in the previous two games of the series with a Ryan Braun solo HR in the 1st inning. It would stay that way until the 6th inning when David Ortiz hit an RBI DB followed by an Alfonso Soriano sac fly RBI to make the scorer 2-1 Redsox. Sizemore would add a run in the 7th inning with a single to make the final score 3-1.
