Game 3
CWS 3 TEX 14
The day looked promising for the Chicago White Sox this afternoon. Early on, Juan Pierre led the game off with a single and promptly stole second base, advanced to 3rd on Michael Young's fielding gaffe, and scored on an Alex Rios sac fly. Unfortunately for the Good Guys, that was all she wrote for them in the final game of a three game stand with the Texas Rangers.
For the third game in a row, the Texas offense got started quickly with a 6 run first inning led by Chris Davis' grand slam after Ian Kinsler was intentionally walked to set up a double play. Three home runs later (Cruz, Saltalamacchia, Young) and add in some solid RBI hits by Guerrero, Texas jumped to a 13-1 lead after the third inning.
Brandon McCarthy got the win, going eight innings while only giving up one run on 5 hits. John Danks went 2 2/3 innings and gave up 13 runs on 14 hits.
Texas takes their hot bats for a 3 game trip to Boston to battle the Red Sox Nation.
