Costco???!! Costco??!! Costco is not an orchid grower more like a broker.. I know they are cheaper there but definately not the best quality.

1. never replant an orchid while in bloom, always replant into BIGGER container after its done blooming. This will give the roots some room to expand.
2. I try to have my customers stay away from orchid food bcuz u might over do it stressing out the plant. If u are going to use plant food follow directions thoroughly and remember to have good drainage.
3. never trim flowers, if u see one wilting just pinch it off

If u go to next year's Philly flower show, I'll give u some grower names for u to look for...

That's awesome. I have a friend who used to keep about 4 or 5 of them. Not sure he does anymore.

Always been fascinated by their intrinsic likeness of a woman.

Yes, I had to look up some words to keep it clean.

LOL

Question: How long do they bloom for???

How often do you water it???

How far down to you pinch off from the dead flower???

thanks Milk.. you are the MAN!!!

Very nice!!! I'm impressed!! That one is considered a mini phalenopsis..... Check for drainage with that container, it should have a hole.... My trick is to bring it to the sink, give it a good watering and let it drain.(once a week)...

The blooms should last 4-6 weeks given the proper conditions. Since orchids are tropical they like it humid and temp between 65-80. Mist the leaves NOT the flowers to create some humidity for them..

When blooms start to wilt just pinch off to the end of the blooms stem.

Once all of the blooms are done, cut the orchid stem all the way down to the eye of the orchid.. The "eye" is exactly where the leaves meet. Looking from above it looks like an eye... As long as the leaves stay green the plant is a healthy one.... Trying to get it to rebloom PRICELESS.. Ima have to charge u for that!!!!

"The more u ignore an orchid, the better it does."- Milkman

Enjoy!!!

Out of curiosity, how much for the whole setup??? scratch
Just for decorative purposes change the green sticks to natural bamboo ones and remove thoses silly clips (I hate those) No . Tie the orchid to the bamboo with some raffia. It would look much nicer

Wow, awesome Milk.. thanks

The whole set up was $18 at my local nursery. I was hopping to change the base (since I bought a $45 clay pot) but Ill wait to re-pot.

I know some orchids can get really expensive and I want one.... especially that purple spotted one you posted on the first pic of the tread... what is that one worth???

I assume I can get the bamboo stick and raffia at the nursery, right??

thanks again cheers cheers cheers
