ANNOUNCEMENT: Quicksev Has Quit The League

As word has seemed to spread, it is true that Quicksev has quit the league. Per league rules, all game results involving Quicksev are reversed, and the official record stands as though Quicksev was never part of the league. The Official Standings change as follows:

Tigers - Lose 1 win and 2 losses
White Sox - Lose 1 loss and 2 wins
Rangers - Lose 3 wins
Braves - Lose 1 win and 2 losses
Giants - Win not recorded does not count

Please note that, because of these changes, the Official Standings on the web page and the Standings on Sportsconnect will have permanent discrepencies. As always, ONLY THE WEB PAGE STANDINGS ARE OFFICIAL.

Because the Stengel Division and the Berra Division will have uneven schedules, in determining home field advantage for the World Series, teams between the two divisions falling between 1.5 games of each other will be considered a TIE and TIEBREAKING rules apply.

Don't let this faze you gentlemen. It was never likely that we were going to finish the season with the same number we started. Our league continues to be the best in the business. Continued excellence, my friends.

How about the stats (Pitchers Wins, HRs, RBIs Etc...), from games played with QuickSEV6? Do We lose those too?

I don't even know how to begin to do that.

I have an idea Why do You kill Yourself with all this, having discrepancies in the standings and not knowing what to do with the stats? why not just leave it the way it is; games played stay played and games not played count as loses for QuikSEV6 (just the way SC has them).

I agree that sounds like a BIG headache trying 2 figure out the stats and all that stuff. Plus the guys who played quik should keep there stats (u know how some ppl get about there stats lol). Me personally im not a big stats guy id rather have the wins then the stats.

I think the records should all be removed just as we did last year.

No vote. You'll notice voting is locked. Voting happens in the beginning of the season before we start playing. If you want to vote on a rule change before the start of next season we can certainly do that. But once the season begins the rules are set.

The reason we knock the record of the quitting player out is because, otherwise, we would have uneven schedules. Either we have the team that played the quitting player having played more games than everyone else in the league because they will have played 3-6 more games at the end of the year.

Or we assign wins to everyone who didn't play the quitter so that everyone has the same amount of games, but that isn't fair to the player who played the quitter and lost. Why should he take a loss while everyone else gets unearned wins?

Or we change all losses to wins and everyone gets a win against the quitter, but thats exactly the same as just removing the player's record +3 to 6 wins.

Besides, I like to treat the situation as if "the quitting player never existed".

And I don't care about the stats, because the stats have no real bearing on the league or only has the weight on Awards voting that the voter assigns it. Its all voluntary, not everyone participates, and can be completely be ignored if a voter choses. It may create uneven games, but so do resolved games. So its not worth the effort to remove.

And, yes, all CUB stats are removed.
