The Redsox got going in the first inning of this game with a solo HR by Ortiz and a 2 run HR by Chipper Jones to make the score 3-0. In the 3rd the Mets got going with an RBI 3B by Jacoby Ellsbury and an RBI single by Jose Reyes to make the score 3-2. An RBI single by David Ortiz in the 5th and an RBI single by Troy Tulowitzki in the 6th would give the Redsox the 5-2 lead and eventual final score. Jon Lester would complete the game.

The Redsox got on the board in the first inning when Placido Polanco hit an RBI 2B to make the score 1-0. In the 4th inning, Alphonso Soriano hit a monster shot to center field to give the Redsox the 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the 4th, David Wright hit an RBI DB to make the score 2-1. Grady Sizemore would answer right back in the 5th inning with an RBI single to make the score 3-1 Redsox. That lead wouldn't last long however as Jim Thome hit a 2 run bomb to right field in the in the 5th inning. That would be all the scoring for the Mets however, as the Redsox score three more runs off of RBI singles by Placido Polanco and Manny Ramirez and an RBI sac fly by Alphonso Soriano to make the final score 6-3 Redsox.
