Series #1 Phillies (PlatanRich) Vs Atlanta (bissette19)

With all the pomp and circumstances of Opening Day the Phillies managed to get a win over the very tenacious Atlanta team. Roy Halladay had some early struggles in the first innings but managed to settle down and gave the Phillies six good innings. When asked about the first inning Halladay commented "I got say the nerves did get the best of me early on, but with the support of the home crowd we did good" The offense pick it up on a couple of seeing eye singles. Charlie Manuel added "We got the hits when we needed them, but I could stand to see a bit of more discipline in our at bats" The Phillies managed to capitalize on an Atlanta error in the first and seem to calm their nerves as the game worn on. Raul Ibanez had a big day going 3-4 scoring 2 runs and knocked one out of the park, asked about his approach he said "Arroz y gandules me ayudaron mucho hoy" Dobbs and Werth also whent long . The bullpen led by Romero manage to keep the game in check until the final out in the ninth by some no mane pitcher.

Philadelphia;

In another slug fest the Phillies overcame Atlanta's big bats in the second game of the series. Jason Werth had another strong game going 4-5 with 3 RBI's. Cole Hammels almost lost it when he gave up 3 runs in the 5th inning "I was running out of gas there toward the end" said Hammels, adding ""They had some good at bats and no thanks to my center fielder for not getting a good route to the ball. What is this t-ball??"" after hearing those comments Victorino said "Hes just upset because everyone Goggled pictures of his wife" Utley added another HR but becouse of the lousy servers it may not appear on his stats.

Great commentary!! Man, everytime the game ends, I get locked up!! The Network better get to work on this cause the is starting to be ridiculous.

Well Baseball fans, the Atlanta Braves WILL actually win a game this year for all of you that may have been worried.

The Phillies got on the board first in the !st with Ryan Howard singling in Shane Victorino who led of the game with a single. After 12 midnight, the Braves announcers were passed out so were unable to call the rest of the game and keep up with any stats. But, they did remeber that Chipper Jones was named, Player of the Game as he went 2-4 with a Homer and 1 RBI. It was a battle between two very competitive teams. The Final Score: Braves 5 Phills 4 Tim Hudson gets the win and the save goes to Billy Wagner.
