Tommy Hunter holds on for his 4th victory of the season in a pitcher's duel against the Rays in the first of a three game set. Tampa Bay broke through first in the 4th inning off of a Matt Joyce ground rule double, but the Rangers battled right back and put up 2 quick runs in the 5th from a Ian Kinsler RBI double and a Saltalamacchia sinlge. Josh Hamilton added the dagger in the 6th with a upper deck homer.

Game 2: TB 0, TEX 7

Derek Holland was strong throughout, giving up only 2 hits in a complete game victory tonight in Arlington. Holland took a no-hitter into the 6th inning until Jason Bartlett barely beat out a grounder with 2 outs. Julio Borbon kicked off the bottom half of the first with a leadoff homer that started a Ranger rally that scored 4 runs on 6 hits with Texas sending 10 men to the plate. After the first, Tampa Bay starter, Matt Garza, finally settled down, holding the Rangers scoreless for the rest of his 5 inning outing. Josh Hamilton added a 2 run bomb off of Andy Sonnenstine in the 7th and Chris Davis followed with an RBI single.
