This one was over before it started. In the top of the 2nd Travis Haffner and Sun Soo-Choo hit back to back doubles to bring in the first run of the game. Kelly Shoppach followed with a single bringing in Shoo to make it a 2-0 game. In the top of the 3rd the Indians got back at it with back to back singles by Mark DeRosa and Victor Martinez. Jonny Perralta would double and a Jed Lowrie error would bring in two more runs making it a 4-0 game. In the bottom of the 4th The RedSox would bring in their only run of the game on a fielder's choice. In the top of the 5th the Indians would continue their wrath with four consecutive singles by Perralta, Shoo, Shoppach, and Francisco to add a run. A sac fly would bring in the second run of the game to make it a 6-1. In the top of the 6th things got even worse for the RedSox. After Derosa and Martinez both singled to start the inning, Haffner hits a Majestic shot to right field to make the game 9-1. Later in the inning Shoo, Shoppach, and Cabrera all single bringing in another run. Sizemore then hits a double to bring in two more RBI's making the score 12-1. The pitcher was obviously upset with the outcome of the game because he hit the next two hitters in DeRosa and Martinez to load the bases. Haffner would come up again for the second time in the inning and hit a shot that hasn't landed yet for a GRAND SLAM! bringing the total to 16-1. At this point the umpires conference and decide to call the mercy rule and end the game.
Because the game was called early I'm not sure who the player of the game was, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was Travis Haffner w/ 1DB 2HR 7RBI.
