| game 2 POG-Brian Duensing The Twins started out hot again tonight putting up 6 in the first two frames, however, that is all they could muster as the Phillies staff kept them off the boards the rest of the game. The Twins and Brian Duensing were cruising along until the top of the 9th inning when after a ground out by Ryan Howard the Twins made a pitching change with a 4 run lead, only to see that lead slip to 1 run with the tying run on 1st and the go ahead at the plate, all while burning 2 relievers. If it wasn't for the solid 1 pitch relief effort by Joe Nathan, who grabbed his 11th save of the season, the Twins bullpen might have cost them the game. Hats off to the Phillies for never saying die...Game 3 should prove to be another tough challenge for the Twins as they continue their hunt for a playoff spot. | |
