John Danks carried a no hitter into the 6th inning but the wheels fell off there. An RBI single by Polanco, an RBI DB by Ordonez, and an RBI single by Thames game the Tigers a 3 run lead, but they weren't done yet. A sac fly by Inge, a 2RBI DB by Laird, an RBI single by Granderson, and a 2RBI single by Polanco put the Tigers up 9-0. In the 8th the Tigers would add 3 more runs on a 2RBI DB by Ordonez and an RBI single by Cabrera to win this one 12-0.

The WhiteSox struck first in this game scoring a run in the first inning off of a Thome RBI DB to make the score 1-0. Things remained quiet until the 6th inning when the Tigers busted out. An RBI single by Polanco, and RBI single by Inge, A PH RBI single by Dusty Ryan, and a 2RBI single by Everett made the score 5-1 at the end of 6. The WhiteSox would add two more runs in the 7th off of a Ramirez 2RBI DB. They would add one more in the 9th when Beckam hit a 3B (Granderson tried to dive and make a great play but came up short) then scored on a Podsednik fielder's choice ground ball but it wouldn't be enough as the Tigers take this one 5-4.
