This game was a pitcher's duel until the 5th inning when Adrian Beltre hit a 2 run HR to right field. Lowell added a run in the 6th with a single to make it 3-0 Redsox. In the 8th inning, the Redsox tacked on 5 more runs with an RBI single by J.D. Drew, a 2 RBI DB by Adrian Beltre, and a 2 RBI single by Dustin Pedroia to make the final score 8-0 Redsox. This game was much closer than the score would indicate.

The Redsox got on the board first in the 3rd inning with a solo HR by Mike Cameron and an RBI DB by Dustin Pedroia. In the bottom of the inning, Matt Laporta hit a solo HR to make the score 2-1 Redsox after 3. In the 5th inning, Marco Scutaro hit a solo HR making the score 3-1 Redsox. In the 6th inning, Russell Branyan hit a solo HR to make it 3-2 Redsox. Sac Fly RBI's by Mike Cameron in the 7th and Dustin Pedroia in the 9th made the final score 5-2 Redsox.

David Ortiz hit a 3 run HR in the first inning to give the Redsox the early 3-0 lead. In the 2nd inning, Russell Branyan hit a DB to bring in Cleveland's first run and make it 3-1 Redsox. In the 3rd inning, J.D. Drew hit a 2 RBI single in the top of the inning and Shin-Soo Choo hit an RBI 3B in the bottom of the inning to make the score 5-2 Redsox. From then on it was all Redsox. In the 4th, an error on a Dustin Pedroia ground ball allowed a run to score. In the 5th, Mike Cameron hit a 3 run HR. In the 9th, Marco Scutaro hit a bases clearing 3B for 3 RBI's and Jacoby Ellsbury hit into a fielder's choice ground ball that allowed the run to score from 3rd to make the final score 13-2 Redsox.
